Russell “John” Brooke is a clinically oriented research machine learning data scientist. Originally from Atlanta Georgia, John did his undergraduate degree at University College Utrecht, Utrecht University’s honors programme, his Master in Public Health (MPH) at the Vrije University in Amsterdam, his Master in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) and his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Epidemiology (PhD) at Utrecht University.
The range of topics John has worked on includes developing hierarchical Bayesian frameworks for evidence synthesis of clinical evidence with real-world evidence during his doctoral work, using whole genome sequencing in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for clinical research at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, to classical machine learning projects of publicly available datasets, deep learning computer vision projects on medical imaging, and advising data-analytics organizations on leveraging AI in their projects.
